an open letter to ablaze

Heys, Ablaze!

You guys are a-ma-zing!! There’s no other word for it. I don’t know which one astounded me more – your hunger for God’s presence that was tangibly felt on the first night of the camp; your ferocious appetite for the Word (“that’s right! that’s good!”); or your humbling willingness to do anything and everything for God’s church. All I know is that my time with you guys has encouraged and challenged me all the way.

As someone who’s watched you guys for quite a while, I must say I feel pretty proud at how much Ablaze has grown. (I know you guys are humble people so let me be proud on your behalf, haha!) I believe a major reason why God’s favour is upon you is this: Ablaze has phenomenal leaders!! Torch, Lisa, Chris and Nick are some of the most visionary and capable leaders I’ve ever known. And they have such big heart for God and for people. So if you continue to follow them as they follow Christ, you will go really, really far.

And this is what you must believe: God has big plans for you. I’m talking HUGE! If you’d take a step of faith and ask God to include you in this super-mega-project-to-use-ablaze-to-change-the-world, you might just find him using you in ways above and beyond whatever you can imagine. Take up God’s calling for you. Grow. Outreach. Disciple. And glorify him with your all. For there’s no other way to live.

A new season for Ablaze is here. Have a blast with God!

Cheering and praying for you guys!
shirls (yes, just shirls!!)

and for the finale, the jaw-dropping ablaze impromptu dance battle…

go rachel! go russel! go paul! go ash!!

    Hey [Pastor] Shirls

Thanks for making the sacrifice to coming over to Brissy – you imparted so much to everyone in Ablaze :) . Yeah can’t wait to see what God has in store for Ablaze for this new season – it’s going to be awesome.

P.S When will Ablaze have the honour of seeing you dance/perform in a skit at Camp?

    Pastor Shirls,
I would be honoured to be the cup bearer to the most honourable one, Ps Shirls. Or even more so- to pour the coffee into the honourable cup of the most honourable one, Ps Shirls. haha

oh Torch asked if i wanted to come to the LC end of the month…I really want to come, but i cant due to work and family. So alas, you will have to wait a while longer for the commencement of my life sentence of coffee pouring.
