I’ve just found an old post and realised that our Metamorphosis has turned three!
In 2005, we were fretting over how to help new believers (especially in their 2nd-3rd month of christian walk) to take the next step towards maturity. In one excruciatingly long meeting, we stumbled upon the concept of one-day newbies camp.
Yhope had only about 500 people then. With no experience of running such events! But with faith and gunghoness, we plunged in. Thus, Metamorphosis was born.
Over the years, Metamorphosis has gone through much, uh, metamorphosis. When we first started, we had five lessons in a day! It’s like a cramming school! There was another one when the games had a whiff of boot camp. People became so tired afterwards they couldn’t focus on learning.
So, all in all, I’m pleased with how Metamorphosis has developed. Now a half-yearly event, it has helped many, many new believers as a turning point in their spiritual growth. I even remember the ‘noobs’ I saw in past Metamorphosis events; now they’re growing, serving God together with us.
Needless to say, this Metamorphosis once again hit the nail. The highlight for me (as always) is the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
We had 120 new believers today and most of them received the fullness of the Holy Spirit. I heard stories of people who asked God again and again, and when they finally prayed in the spirit, they’re just overwhelmed with joy. Man, the sight of it never fails to stirs my spirit.

Looking forward to a bigger, better Metamorphosis next year!!
